Just over a week to go until the Trinity Ball - there’s 5500 tickets,

Keep an eye on those Mathsoc
people… they wouldn’t even bring wine to their AGM, just beer… sniff,
sob…

Karl invited me along to

Sunday, April 28th, 2002

Karl invited me along to a showing of the play Copenhagen, being
shown at the moment in The Project in Temple Bar. Based around
the meeting of Bohr and Schroedinger in 1942, it is an interesting viewpoint
on the scientific landscape of the era, the atomic bomb projects by both
sides in the war, and in general it is a play with good production values.
A lot of technical jargon for those not brought up with much exposure to
scientific theories, but the rest of the play is no less accessible for that.

One big reason to work

Sunday, April 28th, 2002

One big reason to work on a public open source project is that then maybe
people would be interested in what I have to say here ;-) Well besides
the mad lunatic ravings that is. I really should start working on that a
bit more… finding a comfortable place to fit in does take time. I like
mozilla, I just haven’t had the time to sit down and get to know it
properly (other than the usual XUL stuff). Well I know what the issues are,
I am pretty handy with bugzilla now, and I understand what’s going on
both architecturally and politically, but I need to get my hands dirty.

I finished American Gods last

Sunday, April 28th, 2002

I finished American Gods last night. Very recommended book, Neil
Gaiman at almost his finest (his Sandman series are really good too). All
his works are really about mythological figures/anthropomorphic
representations which exist and live within the world we inhabit today.
What would they look like? Where would they live? What do they worry about?
These are all the kinds of things that Neil Gaiman looks at. Read it.

I called over to Liam’s

Saturday, April 27th, 2002

I called over to Liam’s 21st
birthday in Turk’s Head tonight, had a great time dancing to crappy
music, which is (of course) the best kind of music to dance to. I didn’t
drink (see I don’t HAVE to *wink*) but still the night worked out great,
the dance floor was a little crowded, but a good gang. Though I was conscious
of the fact that I was the only non-climber left once we went down to join
Liam and Kate dancing.

Okay, okay… Txul = time

Okay, okay…
Txul = time to open new browser window.
Ts = time for program startup.

A new larger image of m/b.
As Blake said, m/b is currently (at this
extremly early stage of development) already about 21% faster at Txul and Ts!
