- Topology doesn’t change
- There is one administrator
- Transport cost is zero
As talked about elsewhere, this means that message passing is a much better paradigm for distributed computing than RPC.

Interesting, good point. Do you have a reference for that? L. Peter Deutsch seems to have been saying interesting stuff for forty years now, which is quite the achievement.
