New Mozilla-based aggregator
Now, this is a nice aggregator! I’m impressed with it so far, it works very like how I would like an aggregator to work.
Issues? It’s heavy on memory, slows down the opening of new windows, and I think the Mozilla-Java interaction can cause crashes (I’ve experienced a few). I hope that my upgrade to the 1.4.2 JVM might help with the last issue.
Another crash… I must work out the full scheme for building mozilla so that I can get some stack trace information.
Asa, if you ever see this, it would be so handy sometimes for dabblers if the debug symbols for nightly Windows builds could be made available. Some of us can at least fiddle with windbg and forward some basic analysis…

The crash issue was fixed on RC2… I assume you were on Linux right?

Sorry, I’m afraid that it’s with version 1.0.0-rc1.06 FREE (build ID 1056935011774).
Mozilla version: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030612
Java build: 1.4.2-b28
(also tried with Java release 1.4.1_02)
I think it happens after opening the sidebar - and it’s ALWAYS when I’m closing a window. As I said, I think I need to build my own debug version so as to get a bit more info on the matter… anyway I don’t blame your code just yet - I suspect you push the boundaries of what has been tried in Java-Mozilla interaction

Okay, I’m so used to NewsMonster updating that I didn’t realise I was still on an older version of NewsMonster. I’d had the feeling we were on RC5 or RC6 by this stage
I’ll see if this update helps.
It is a crash on Windows though…

Gary using Windows? I thought you are a Debian evangelist, just like how Aidan is a Xemacs evangelist…
